Whatever is the shape taken by the participation of the women in the conflicts, a gendered analysis of the patriarchal societies reveals that men and women live « different and not synchronous experiences » in which the women’s role, invisible or glorified, remains often subordinated to the men’s one. But because of the role assigned to andor assumed by them, the war may have, on the contrary, emancipatories properties for the women by modifying a socio economic gendered space and by changing them, as victims, into actresses susceptible to act on the economic, educational and political ground.
In Palestine, the whole society lives since 1948 a conflict which transforms the Palestinian territory into war zone, in particular in Gaza the population of which, since the institution of the blockade, undergoes regular bombardments and remains deprived of the access to the properties the care and the education, so much war violence the consequences of which are extreme not only in political term but also in the domestic life, the territory traditionally devolved to the women. However we can see many of them in the street demonstrating against the military occupation, calling up to the union of all the political parties, investing sectors such as health, education, university, policy.
This communication has for objective to listen Gaza women’s voices, to understand the reality of their life and their fights, in a historical and comparative perspective, crossing women’s individual stories of different generations and courses with the collective History :
